"After taking a break I'm very happy to have arrived at allowing myself to just have fun with my own music again. I was so moved the first time I heard the original version of Dafnino. MaMan's voice is so beautiful. I wanted to make it work in my DJ sets, so I made my own version that I felt became more than just a remix."
"This may be Dreijer's first album under his own name, but he's released records as Oni Ayhun, and has had a flurry of new singles over the last couple years, not to mention remixes for Björk & Rosalía, Röyksopp, Robyn and more."
Olof Dreijer, known as the male half of electronic duo The Knife, announces his debut solo album Loud Bloom, releasing May 8 through Dirty Hit's dh2 imprint. Though this marks his first album under his own name, Dreijer has previously released music as Oni Ayhun and produced numerous singles and remixes for artists including Björk, Rosalía, Röyksopp, and Robyn. The 14-track album features contributions from Diva Cruz and Toya Delazy, with lead single "Echoed Dafnino" showcasing Arabic vocals from Sudanese singer MaMan. Dreijer expresses enthusiasm about returning to music creation after his hiatus, emphasizing the joy of working with his own material again.
