Take It Easy, Joe Walsh
""We could either cancel the whole thing or we could man up and do the show," he said. "So we came down here this afternoon and had an emergency rehearsal for two hours. And fortunately, in this band, we have a deep bench.""
""Joe's going to be okay," he added. "He just needs some time. Give him some love.""
""Life's Been Good" on repeat."
Joe Walsh did not perform with the Eagles for the first time in 50 years after a flu diagnosis left him too sick to take the stage. The absence was announced to attendees at the band's Sphere residency on January 24; fans were not notified beforehand. The band opted to continue the show after an emergency two-hour rehearsal that afternoon. Substitute vocalists Vince Gill and Deacon Frey covered Walsh's parts. A planned performance of "Funk #49" was replaced by the Eagles' first No. 1 hit, "Best of My Love," to restructure the set. Walsh was ill the previous night but finished that show despite briefly leaving the stage to rest. The next show is scheduled for January 30.
