Sublime Announce First Album in 30 Years
""The last Sublime record that will ever be made is Self-Titled. There's no replacing history, period. Until the Sun Explodes the album is an epilogue, and 'Until the Sun Explodes' the single is the epilogue to the epilogue.""
""It is a tribute to the expansive works of Sublime, it is an acknowledgment for all that my father has done for me my entire life, and most importantly it is a thank you. I love you dad, and I owe you my life.""
""Bassist Wilson, drummer Gaugh, and singer-guitarist Bradley Nowell formed Sublime in 1988. They released their debut album, 40oz. to Freedom, in 1992, following it up with 1994's Robbin' the Hood.""
""KJ Apa is currently set to star as Nowell in a Sublime biopic helmed by Justin Chon.""
Sublime will release their first album in 27 years, titled 'Until the Sun Explodes', on June 12. The new lineup includes Jakob Nowell, Eric Wilson, and Bud Gaugh. Nowell honors his late father, Bradley Nowell, stating the album serves as an epilogue to Sublime's legacy. The title track's video features pro skateboarders and was filmed in Long Beach. The album includes the single 'Ensenada', while a previous collaboration with Stick Figure does not appear on this release. A biopic about Bradley Nowell is also in development, starring KJ Apa.
