Spotify Caught Doing Something Unbelievably Ghoulish With AI
Briefly

Spotify is generating new songs for long-dead musicians using AI technology, raising ethical concerns as this is done without the families' or record labels' consent. The release of songs for artists like Blaze Foley, who was killed in 1989, featured music styles that were inconsistent with their original work. The generated songs lack authentic energy and reflect an algorithmic output rather than the artist's true style. This has sparked criticism regarding Spotify's security measures and ethical practices in handling artist legacies.
I can clearly tell you that this song is not Blaze, not anywhere near Blaze's style, at all. It has nothing to do with the Blaze you know, that whole posting has the authenticity of an algorithm.
It's kind of an AI schlock bot, if you will. Like most AI images, AI-generated music is pretty easy to spot, thanks to its lack of dynamic energy, overly conventional form, and canned vocal quality.
