Something in the Way Fest 2026: Live updates from Roadrunner
"We are Her New Knife," he said. "Thank you for being here so early, it's really nice to see you."
"ICE is a criminal gang," Atencio said. "Go vote or buy guns. Thank you."
Something in the Way took place Jan. 31–Feb. 1 at Roadrunner Boston, hosted by Run for Cover Records and The Bowery Presents. Two stages allowed back-to-back sets and minimized delays as two dozen indie and alternative rock bands performed. Philadelphia shoegaze band Her New Knife opened at 1:30 p.m.; the band formed in 2020 at Florida State University and features Edgar Atencio, Ben Kachler, Carolina Schooley, and Elijah Ford. Her New Knife delivered hushed, sinister vocals, heavily distorted guitars, thanked early attendees, and made an onstage political statement condemning ICE. Boston-based Gollylagging followed with droning guitars.
