"rock of the community ... who knows something before anybody else does,"
"I'm from Kentucky originally, and getting to play a strong Southern woman pays homage to all the matriarchy in my life,"
"She's a hero in her own right."
Miki Abraham, a nonbinary Kentucky native, stars as Lulu in the Broadway touring production of Shucked. Lulu is Maizy's cousin, runs a whiskey distillery, and is described as a "rock of the community" who "knows something before anybody else does." The musical is set in fictional Cobb County, where corn supports the town until it fails, and Maizy ventures out to seek support. The show emphasizes tearing down walls to preserve community life and explores change, acceptance, and love. Abraham understudied in 2022, appeared on Broadway in 2023–24, and is on tour through June 2026. Abraham uses they/them pronouns and works as a life coach.
