Neil Young is set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his iconic 1974 album On the Beach with a special limited-edition clear vinyl reissue, launching on November 8th. This release will be exclusive to the Greedy Hand Store alongside standard music retailers, with all purchases from the store also including free hi-res digital downloads of those eight cherished tracks. Pre-orders for this definitive edition are already open.
On the Beach stands as not only a highly-acclaimed follow-up to his much-loved Harvest but is also the second installment in Young's 'Ditch Trilogy.' This album showcases contributions from notable artists including Rick Danko and Levon Helm from The Band, as well as his collaborators Graham Nash and David Crosby of CSNY, alongside Crazy Horse's Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina, enriching its sound and legacy.
In addition to the On the Beach reissue, Neil Young is preparing to release a vinyl reissue of four of his classic albums on October 4th. He has mentioned the toll of illness and fatigue on both himself and his band members, leading him to cancel his recent tour. 'My body was telling me, 'You gotta stop.' And so I listened to my body,’ he expressed, emphasizing the need to prioritize health.
