Metallica played intimate Long Island show for SiriusXM (pics, video, setlist)
Briefly

Metallica marked the launch of their SiriusXM station Maximum Metallica with an intimate outdoor concert at Long Island's Stephen Talkhouse inside a 500-capacity tent. The band performed a 13-song set of classics including "Creeping Death," "Master of Puppets" and "Enter Sandman," and paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne when Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo jammed "Crazy Train." James Hetfield said the performance recalled club days and the close, sweaty energy of small shows. Numerous celebrities attended. The concert will stream on Maximum Metallica (channel 42) starting September 1, with rebroadcasts and availability on Howard Stern's channel and the SiriusXM app.
It happened outside Long Island's Stephen Talkhouse, under a 500-capacity tent, where the band ripped through a 13-song set loaded with classics. They also paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, with Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo jamming "Crazy Train" for their nightly "doodle." "This reminds us of the club days," James Hetfield told the crowd, as Rolling Stone points out. "Getting hot and sweaty and up close and personal."
For those who couldn't go in person, the show will begin streaming on Maximum Metallica (channel 42) on Monday, September 1 at 12pm ET, and will rebroadcast throughout the week.
