Listen to Strange Pains' (Empty Country) sweeping indie rock song "Soon and So On"
"We recently mentioned that Strange Pains, the band led by Ted Bradley of Empty Country's live band, is gearing up to release a double album called The Diamond District that Joe D'Agostino from Empty Country/ Cymbals Eat Guitars produced, mixed, played, and sang all over. We're now premiering the new single "Soon and So On," which Joe says is "kind of a duet" between him and Ted, and Ted had this to say about:"
""It's nice to spend time in a softer, more unconscious space where images and feelings move without needing to resolve into meaning. When you're tired and close with someone, the weirdest ideas, tiny revelations, grandiose plans, ancient secrets are all fair game to explore. Communicating like that is fun. Many of my favorite memories seem sort of pre-verbal in that way. My hope is that people might see something of themselves in it.""
Strange Pains, led by Ted Bradley of Empty Country's live band, will release a double album titled The Diamond District. Joe D'Agostino of Empty Country/Cymbals Eat Guitars produced, mixed, played on, and sang extensively across the record. The new single "Soon and So On" features a duet-like vocal exchange between Bradley and D'Agostino and includes cello from Noel Heroux of Hooray For Earth. Bradley describes the song as arising from softer, pre-verbal spaces where images and feelings float without resolving into explicit meaning. The track channels classic indie influences such as Wilco and Pavement and aims to evoke personal recognition in listeners.
