Legendary British funk band Cymande is back, with new stories to tell
Briefly

Cymande, a British funk band known for their influence on hip-hop, is set to release their first new album in years, titled "Renascence." Although they disbanded in 1974 after a brief but impactful career, their music has been sampled by many artists and featured in films. After reuniting for a few small projects, the band took time to refine their sound and bring back their recognizable style. The continuous interest in their past work fueled their comeback, aiming to create fresh music that stays true to their roots.
After taking a break in 1974, the bandmates went their separate ways. Patrick Patterson and Steve Scipio moved from Britain to the Caribbean to work as lawyers.
Spurred by the continued interest in their old music, band members had a few short reunions beginning in the mid-2000s and released an album, "A Simple Act of Faith," in 2015.
