Kylesa, the Savannah-based sludge metal band, is reuniting for their first live performances in nearly ten years, beginning with the Roadburn Festival in April 2025.
Core members Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants expressed excitement about returning to the stage: 'After 10 years away we are excited to return to performing live... celebrating 25 years as a band.'
The band originally decided on a hiatus in 2016 after intense touring cycles, stating, 'After 15 years of nonstop touring and writing, we decided that it is time for a break.'
Kylesa, alongside bands like Mastodon and Baroness, defined Southern sludge metal's emergence in the late '90s/early 2000s, with albums that showcased their evolving sound.
