"I'm jumping around the stage like a rabid monkey, rapping my song, and I'm taking breaths, and my DJ is filling in the other parts of it - I even told them when I saw the rough cut, I was like, You guys got to work on that sync. It's off. So it was just a syncing issue that they had, and I know they tried to get it right. It was very difficult."
"My DJ, who actually raps that song with me, was not lit up,"
"in my living room and I'm gonna post it tomorrow to show people exactly how this works."
"I'll answer all the haters tomorrow and we'll put them back in the - and shut up and go back to trying to report the fake news."
Kid Rock denied lip-syncing during his performance of “Bawitdaba” at Turning Point USA’s halftime show and attributed the problem to being out of sync with his DJ. He said the DJ “was not lit up,” that he was moving heavily and taking breaths while the DJ filled in other parts. He said he viewed a rough cut before airing and concluded the performance had been pre-taped, with synchronization problems that production struggled to correct. He said his DJ will fly to Nashville, they will re-record the song in his living room and post the clip, and he vowed to confront critics and label coverage “fake news.”
