Kelvin Harrison Jr. explores 'Mufasa's' musical influences, including 'Hamilton'
Briefly

The release of 'Mufasa: The Lion King' on Disney+ has been met with excitement, particularly for its soundtrack crafted by Lin-Manuel Miranda. In an interview, star Kelvin Harrison Jr. discussed his recording experience and how the music influenced his performance. He highlighted notable songs such as 'I Always Wanted A Brother,' which showcases themes of acceptance and community. Harrison Jr. appreciated the musical elements in the score, likening some tracks to iconic works like 'Phantom of the Opera' and 'Hamilton,' indicating their significant emotional impact.
What Lin was able to pinpoint with 'I Always Wanted A Brother' was really special, because it's one thing to read the script and you know, that story point, at that moment is that he's about to accept this outsider into his family.
'Brother Betrayed' though, reminded me of 'Phantom of the Opera' and that's why I was like, 'This is like that moment in the movie.'
But it wasn't fully done... it was all Lin singing on the track. 'I Always Wanted a Brother' was already Theo and Braelyn on the track already when I got it.
