Jonny Greenwood Has "No Idea" If Radiohead Will Make New Music: "I'm Surprised the Tour Actually Happened"
"It was great to revisit songs that we always felt were good and to find lots of other people now agree with us,"
"And it was really nice to be playing and listening to Thom [Yorke] again."
"I found it strange not to be doing anything new on the tour. I guess we are all doing new music elsewhere now so that's where our creative energies are going."
"It's very hard to talk about this," Greenwood said, "but I think music and art should be above and beyond political concerns... If I'm supposed to stop working with musicians because I dislike their governments then I wouldn't work with any of them. The fact is, what defines us as musicians isn't our nationalities. But that point doesn't seem to get through."
Radiohead reunited for a brief 2025 European tour and revisited older songs, finding strong audience approval. Jonny Greenwood expressed enjoyment at playing and listening to Thom Yorke again. Greenwood said it felt odd not to introduce new material on the tour and noted that band members are creating new music separately. Greenwood said he has no idea if or when a new Radiohead album will be made, citing advance venue bookings that would delay any future tour. Greenwood also defended artistic collaborations across nationalities and said music should be above political concerns.
