Hurry announce new LP 'Zoned Out,' share title track
"Zoned Out comes from a place of me staring down roads, specifically around my partner and I deciding to have a child and how fucking scary that is. It was me searching for reassurance that I would never find and trying my best to avoid a tendency to unplug instead of facing heavy life stuff."
"When I wrote this song I was in a place where I needed to face some fears around taking next steps in a relationship and committing to a path in life that felt heavy and existential at the time."
Philly indie pop band Hurry will release their seventh album, Zoned Out, on July 10 via Lame-O Records. This album follows 2023's Don't Look Back and features engineering by Ian Farmer, with Gerard Love from Teenage Fanclub contributing. Bandleader Matt Scottoline discusses the album's themes, particularly his feelings about starting a family and the anxieties surrounding major life decisions. The first single, also titled 'Zoned Out,' addresses his struggles with disassociation and the challenges of facing significant life changes.
