RedOctane Games has re-emerged, founded by developers from the original Guitar Hero franchise. Led by Simon Ebejer, a former production designer, the studio plans to focus exclusively on rhythm games. Several creators from the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero titles are part of the team, along with the original founders of RedOctane Games on an advisory board. Currently, no games are announced, but production on a first title has started and an announcement is expected this year.
"Rhythm games are about more than just gameplay; they're about feel, flow, and connection to the music and to each other," said Ebejer in a statement. "RedOctane Games is our way of giving back to a genre that means so much to us, while pushing it forward in new and exciting directions."
RedOctane Games was the name of the original publisher behind the Guitar Hero series. It aims to solely focus on rhythm games.
