It was self-produced and one song ("The Rising Skyline") features Hayley Williams, whose band Paramore covered a Failure song on their second release, The Summer Tic EP, 20 years ago. "Vocalist Ken Andrews says the song was written about the serious back injury that he suffered shortly after editing the recent Failure documentary Every Time You Lose Your Mind that required him to get surgery. "I basically coded," he says. "Everything was spinning. I kept saying, 'Turn the air on. I'm fine-just take me home.' I was definitely not fine.""
Failure will release Location Lost on April 24. The self-produced album includes "The Rising Skyline" featuring Hayley Williams. The record is described as very different, with sounds and parts lacking precedent in the Failure world. The lead single "The Air's On Fire" is a brooding rock song exploring new territory. The single was written about a serious back injury that required surgery. Location Lost is the first release on Blaze James' Arduous Records and co-released with Failure Records. A tour starts April 21 in Los Angeles and includes a May 12 New York stop. A limited opaque silver metallic vinyl of 500 copies is available for pre-order.
