Ensemble ARI Classical Concert (Orinda)
"Ensemble ARI, a classical ensemble that was founded by two Orinda residents, will give concert this Fall. The ensemble will feature something familiar - a beloved Schumann piano trio - alongside something new, with contemporary works by Californian composers. Recently retired Saint Mary's College professor Martin Rokeach will share his piano trio, Let's Get Out of Here. Michael Lee, our long-time collaborator and faculty at Chapman University, has written a new violin solo for this concert."
"Heeyoung Yang, a South Bay composer, has created a series of pieces based on Korean folksongs. Among these, we will perform Pheasant Song and Nori. Additionally, Ensemble ARI will improvise on Luke Dzwonczyk's audiovisual piece. The audience will be immersed in sound and visuals, which work especially well in the newly renovated Yeolin Church (formerly St. Mark's Church). Free concert!"
