Ekko Astral will release a 12-track concept album titled the beltway is burning on April 22 via Topshelf Records. Each track acts as a vignette set in a fictionalized Washington D.C. Beltway where Adam Sandler is a "god-president" and the DMV becomes a demilitarized zone ruled by SoundCloud rappers and "butt rockers." The lead single, "lil xan goes to washington," follows a former SoundCloud rapper who travels to D.C. to lobby for addiction assistance legislation before succumbing to the cartoonish horror of K Street and becoming a sellout. The single's video depicts a psychedelic performance. Tour dates run from February 14 in New York City through June 6 in Philadelphia, with supporting acts including Agriculture, mclusky, and Perennial.
