Drake's legal filing claims UMG and Spotify manipulated streaming outcomes for Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us' using bots, undisclosed payments, and biased recommendations.
According to Drake's attorneys, 'UMG did not rely on chance, or even ordinary business practices,' but instead 'launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves.'
They accuse UMG of using deceptive pay-to-play practices and violating the RICO act, stating their attempts to negotiate were dismissed by UMG.
The legal documents allege that UMG facilitated misleading streaming recommendations and made payments to promote 'Not Like Us,' further claiming an Apple partnership misled users.
