Don Schlitz, a celebrated country music songwriter, died at 73 due to a sudden illness. He was recognized with multiple awards, including two Grammy Awards, and was inducted into several prestigious music halls of fame. Schlitz made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2017 and was honored as the only non-artist inductee in 2022. His songs, recorded by numerous artists, are considered classics in country music. The Grand Ole Opry will dedicate its Saturday night show in his memory.
