"Def Leppard have released the new single "Rejoice" ahead of their Las Vegas residency beginning February 3rd. The track is a joyous slab of tried-and-true arena rock, throwing it back to the sound of the band's seminal album Hysteria. Somewhat unconventionally, singer Joe Elliott's lyrics were the initial inspiration for the song, with guitarist Phil Collen putting together the musical arrangement to match."
"Collen described the song as "hard rock for us" and having "a bit more of an 'oomph' than stuff we've been doing for a while." "I had this riff, this idea for a song a while ago actually, so when Joe came to me I created this drum loop based with a tribal sound and it fit perfectly with this other arrangement I had," Collen said. "I sent it to Joe and it was like magic - he sang straight over the top of it.""
Def Leppard released "Rejoice" shortly before starting a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace from February 3–28. The song channels classic arena-rock vibes reminiscent of Hysteria. Joe Elliott supplied lyrics about a narrator rising up from rock bottom, and Phil Collen assembled a musical arrangement to match. Collen described the track as "hard rock for us" with more "oomph," built around a riff and a tribal drum loop that evolved into a chant-like power. The single is the band's first original material since 2024 and is available to stream while residency tickets remain on sale.
