Producer Charlie Andrew's lack of reverence for David Gilmour's musical past brought a fresh perspective to the album. His directness and suggestions added a new dynamic to the creation process.
'Luck and Strange' includes collaborations with musicians such as Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert, and features late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright. Polly Samson contributed most of the album's lyrics.
