Danny Brown: Quaranta

It's commendable that Brown would rather make an album about what he's going through than cater to what his audience expects- as he told us a decade ago, he has no intention of rapping about youthful exploits for the rest of his life. That said, Quaranta often fails to present these topics in compelling ways.
Not everything on Quaranta feels like a break from the past-there are a few glimpses of Brown's old charisma.
