Charles Dumont, composer of Edith Piaf's Non, Je ne Regrette Rien, dies at 95

In 2013, Dumont recalled his encounter with Edith Piaf: "She'd already said no to three of my songs. I didn't want to go back, but Michel persuaded me."

Upon hearing the melody multiple times, Piaf transformed: "She looked at me differently. She said: don't worry, young man. This song will go round the world."

Dumont expressed deep gratitude for Piaf: "My mother gave birth to me, but Edith Piaf brought me into the world. Without her, I would never have done everything I did."

The song 'Non, Je ne Regrette Rien' encapsulates a life devoid of remorse, reflecting Piaf's sentiments: "For my life, for my joys / Today, starts with you."
