Car Seat Headrest Announce Tour and First Album in Five Years, Share Video for New Song
Briefly

Car Seat Headrest returns with 'The Scholars,' their first album in five years, on May 2. This rock opera, set at Parnassus University, tells interwoven stories of students and staff, exploring profound themes of life, death, and rebirth. The centerpiece is the 11-minute multi-part song 'Gethsemane,' following Rosa, a medical student with a burden of absorbing pain from the deceased. The band's tour kicks off on May 16, with shows strategically spaced due to lead singer Will Toledo's health challenges after a severe COVID-19 reaction. This new work follows 2020's 'Making a Door Less Open.'
"The Scholars focuses on a different student or staff member on each song to tell tales of life, death, and rebirth."
"Each night, instead of dreams, she encounters the raw pain and stories of the souls she touches throughout the day."
