Burning Man announces changes to ticket prices and policies
"This year's event is scheduled to run from Aug. 30 to Sept. 7, and although there will be additional ticket sales closer to the fest, your best (and cheapest) shot at attending the Burn is to register for a chance to purchase the first round of tickets. The registration window for the Sunrise Sale runs from Jan. 26 to Feb. 3, with the sale beginning at noon on Feb. 4."
"Last year, the Burning Man Project, the nonprofit organization that runs the festival, instituted a sliding scale payment system. There were a limited number of tickets available in each of six tiers, ranging from $550 to $3,000, with the intention that wealthier Burners would generously subsidize the lower ticket tiers. The change coincided with a $20 million budget shortfall. The organizers haven't made announcements regarding their finances following 2025's event."
"This year, they're implementing a toned down version of that pay-what-you-want system. The general sale price for "pay your way" tickets is $775, with "give the gift" ticketing tiers of $975, $1,500 and $3,000. There will be a limited supply of $675 "get the gift" tickets, once again subsidized by the higher tiers. Unlike many other festivals, there's no such thing as VIP passes - regardless of the price, attendees gain the same level of access."
Burning Man 2026 runs Aug. 30–Sept. 7. Sunrise Sale registration runs Jan. 26–Feb. 3, with the sale beginning Feb. 4 at noon. A toned-down pay-what-you-want system sets a general price of $775, plus "give the gift" tiers at $975, $1,500 and $3,000 and a limited $675 subsidized tier. Last year's sliding-scale system followed a $20 million budget shortfall and organizers have not updated finances. Additional sales include a Ticket Aid $250 program and a Resilience program launching Feb. 25; main-sale registration begins April 20. A payment-plan option is newly available.
