Black Country, New Road announces their eagerly awaited album "Forever Howlong," the first since frontman Isaac Wood's departure in 2022. The band, featuring classically trained musicians, discusses how they innovatively incorporated the recorder into their music. Initially starting with simple arrangements, they found complexity as they practiced, showcasing their evolution over the years. The title track and lead single "Besties" illustrate this bold reinvention. Set for release on April 4 via Ninja Tune, the band plans to perform live throughout the year, marking a significant new chapter in their journey.
The band agrees that "Forever Howlong" was a song they could never have made three years ago, illustrating their growth and evolution as musicians.
With their limited experience on the recorder, it understandably started as a simple song...but it gets more complex by the end because we just got better at playing it.
The finished product is now the title track of Black Country, New Road's new album, showcasing a bold reinvention by relearning the basics.
Once Forever Howlong drops, on April 4, via Ninja Tune, the same lineup that made the songs will play them live for the next year or so.
