Ben Folds has released a new album titled 'Ben Folds Live with the National Symphony Orchestra' on Independence Day. The album showcases fan favorites and new tracks performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Steven Reineke. Featuring guest artists Regina Spektor and Tall Heights, Folds recorded the album at the Kennedy Center shortly before resigning as Artistic Advisor to the NSO. His resignation was a response to President Trump's administrative changes at the Kennedy Center. Folds plans to support the album with a US tour.
"This album suddenly now feels much bigger... I didn’t know it’d be a time capsule of the last moment before it all got torn down... But you must work for it. You have to say something. Especially now."
"I had my statement up by 2:01. The takeover was at 2:00. I wanted no part of what was coming."
