Aftershock 2025: Our favorite moments from metal festival's closing day
"The 2025 Aftershock Festival closed up shop on Sunday by delivering another full day's worth of heavy sounds and cool performances. Rob Zombie, Marilyn Mason, Bring Me the Horizon, Mudvayne and In This Moment were among the big-name acts to perform on the fourth and final day of this year's Aftershock Festival at Discovery Park in San Francisco. Here's a look at some of our favorite moments, accompanied with stunning photos from ace rock photographer Chris Riley:"
"Rob Zombie lived up his mighty legend, rocking through an hourlong set that included 12 hard-hitting songs. The presentation was first-tier shock rock, but the music itself was more of a groove/industrial metal hybrid. He wowed fans with such favorites as More Human Than Human and Dragula, but also made the announcement that he plans to release new music very soon."
"In This Moment delivered an absolutely spellbinding mix of gothic and industrial metal sounds, but one rooted in an early 2000s alt-rock. Maria Brinks was a dynamic frontwoman, in total control as she transported Aftershock fans through an equally intriguing and bizarre horror/fantasy concept concert that felt almost cinematic in scope."
The 2025 Aftershock Festival concluded Sunday at Discovery Park in San Francisco with a final day of heavy music and theatrical performances. Headliners included Rob Zombie, Marilyn Mason, Bring Me the Horizon, Mudvayne and In This Moment. Rob Zombie delivered an hourlong, 12-song set mixing shock-rock presentation with groove and industrial-metal elements, performing favorites More Human Than Human and Dragula while announcing imminent new music. In This Moment presented a cinematic horror/fantasy concept show blending gothic and industrial metal with early-2000s alt-rock sensibilities, anchored by Maria Brink's commanding stage presence. GWAR staged an outrageously tasteless set that pushed boundaries. Chris Riley provided striking concert photographs.
