ABBA to take iconic Voyage show to to brand new city after huge success in East London
"The Abba Voyage show is set to head across the pond show after becoming a roaring success in the capital. The show has been in East London for the past three and a half years and is still selling out week after week. And now, thanks to the success of the concert, they will be taking the show stateside. Bosses want to take the digital concert's residency to New York, after talks for launching it in Las Vegas stalled."
"The band are said to be keen to develop a long-dormant stretch of land on 11th Avenue, not far from Times Square, in the hopes of bringing the show to an American audience. A source told The Sun: While many steps remain in the process, they are actively working to bring ABBA Voyage to New York. It took ages to build the arena though, so I imagine there will be a bit of a wait for American fans."
ABBA Voyage has played a sell-out residency in East London for three and a half years and continues to draw audiences. Plans are underway to bring the digital concert residency to New York after talks with Las Vegas stalled. Developers propose redeveloping a long-dormant block on 11th Avenue near Times Square, demolishing vacant buildings to build a 175,000-square-foot, purpose-built arena seating 3,000. The partnership named Clinton PB Associates LLC, a joint venture of Extell Development and Princeton Real Estate Partners, would offer a 30-year lease to US operator Isagel LLC. Officials aim for an anticipated 2028 opening, pending approvals and construction.
