In 2025, wireless networks have shown significant improvement, with J.D. Power reporting only 8 problems per 100 interactions, the lowest since 2018. The average customer's device usage dropped to seven hours and nine minutes over 48 hours. The study evaluated responses from over 31,000 customers, measuring the experience of wireless phone, tablet, and mobile broadband users. Verizon led in several regions, highlighting more balanced network quality across providers as 5G technology gains traction and issues decrease despite rising usage among generations X and Y, now averaging eight hours every two days.
Typically, as time spent on mobile devices drops, so do problems experienced. However, the drop in problems this volume goes beyond that.
As wireless technology evolves and 5G adoption accelerates - reducing service-related issues - the competitive landscape among providers is becoming more balanced.
