This case study explores the development of a real-time lyrics translation feature for music streaming platforms like YouTube Music. Recognizing the gap in user experiences where listeners often disconnect to seek translations, the project aimed to integrate translation seamlessly into the playback experience. Through user interviews and market research, it became clear that users desired an instantaneous understanding of lyrics to enhance their engagement and enjoyment of multilingual songs. A comprehensive PRD was crafted to outline the core experience and user needs, positioning real-time translation as a valuable enhancement in music engagement.
