Time runs out for Tizen-powered Galaxy Watches as Samsung plans to end support in 2025
Briefly

A notification from the Galaxy Store app announced that support for older Tizen-based Galaxy Watches is ending later this year, affecting models from Galaxy Watch to Watch 3, plus the two Watch Active models.
From September 30, 2022, users can no longer purchase paid Tizen apps; from May 31, 2025, even free apps and other content will be unavailable. Installed apps will continue to run.
The last Tizen model, the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 launched in 2020, will be five years old when support ends in 2025, with the last update in December 2021 bringing new watch faces.
Galaxy Watch4 and newer models running Google's Wear OS remain unaffected by this change, highlighting the shift towards Wear OS in the smartwatch market.
