Samsung reshuffles its leadership, TM Roh gets even more important
"Today, Samsung Electronics named TM Roh as head of its Device eXperience (DX) Division and appointed him as CEO. He won't be the only CEO, however - he's joining Young Hyun Jun, Vice Chairman and Head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division, as co-CEO. Roh will continue to oversee the company's mobile business as head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) business, while Vice Chairman Jun will remain head of the Memory business."
"So it looks like Roh is expanding his managerial roles, which means Samsung must be happy with how he's led the mobile business in the past few years, since he's basically now given even more areas to oversee. Samsung has also named Janghyun Yoon as President, CTO of the DX Division and head of Samsung Research, and Hongkun Park as head of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology."
Samsung elevated TM Roh to lead the Device eXperience (DX) Division and serve as a co-CEO alongside Young Hyun Jun. Roh will continue to run the Mobile eXperience (MX) business. Young Hyun Jun will remain head of the Memory business and serve as co-CEO while heading the Device Solutions (DS) Division. Janghyun Yoon was appointed President and CTO of the DX Division and will head Samsung Research. Hongkun Park was named head of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology. Yoon previously led Samsung Venture Investment and worked on software platforms, IoT, and Tizen; Park is a Harvard professor and a noted nanoscience and quantum researcher.
