Samsung officially reveals the upgraded Bixby in One UI 8.5
"Samsung has now officially detailed the upgraded Bixby, which is now being called a conversational device agent. In an official press release, Samsung detailed the new features coming to Bixby in One UI 8.5, which is expected to go official alongside the Galaxy S26 series on February 25. According to Samsung, the new Bixby will allow users to control and manage device settings using natural language."
"For example, a user could say they don't want the screen to turn off while they're looking at it, and Bixby will automatically enable the "Keep screen on while viewing" setting. The updated Bixby also supports real-time web search, enabling the chatbot to deliver the latest, up-to-date results for user queries. These results are displayed directly within the Bixby interface."
One UI 8.5 Beta 5 includes the February Android security patch and an updated Bixby now described as a conversational device agent. The upgraded Bixby enables users to control and manage device settings using natural language. Users can issue commands like asking the assistant not to turn off the screen while they are looking at it, and Bixby will enable the 'Keep screen on while viewing' setting. Bixby now supports real-time web search, delivering up-to-date results inside the Bixby interface. The Beta 5 Bixby experience is available in select regions — Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US — with a wider rollout and an official launch expected alongside the Galaxy S26 series on February 25.
