Samsung advertises the Galaxy S26 Ultra's low-light camera performance with an AI video
"Samsung recently teased the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra's low-light photography chops, and today the company's arm in the US has released a short video teasing the phone's low-light video recording capabilities. That's nothing out of the ordinary, but here's the thing - the teaser video itself was "generated with the assistance of AI tools", as the company's disclaimer clearly notes at the bottom."
"At one point in the video we're asked "Can your phone do that?". But since this is an AI-"assisted" video, apparently the S26 Ultra can't "do that" either? It's quite confusing, and we're sure the intentions were good here (after all, the company did choose to disclose the AI "assistance", it could simply not have done that), but despite that it does kind of seem like Samsung has shot itself in the foot with this one, at least a little bit."
"Hopefully the actual low-light video recording performance of the S26 Ultra is better than using AI to tease it would imply. The phone is getting official alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ on February 25, and the full spec sheet for all three devices was leaked not long ago, along with European pricing."
Samsung recently teased the Galaxy S26 Ultra's low-light photography and the company's US arm published a short video highlighting low-light video recording. The teaser video included a disclaimer that it was "generated with the assistance of AI tools." The AI-assisted disclosure prompted questions about why Samsung did not share actual low-light footage captured by the phone. The video asks "Can your phone do that?", which many interpreted as implying the S26 Ultra may not have produced the footage itself. Samsung's disclosure avoided deception but still created confusion and a perception of self-sabotage ahead of the February 25 launch.
