"Apple's iPhone Fold is coming out later this year, the rumor consensus agrees. The device will have a very different form factor to what we've seen in the Android world, and according to a new rumor from China today, it will also come with the biggest battery Apple has ever put in a smartphone. Back in November, a rumor claimed it would be between 5,400 mAh and 5,800 mAh, and today's rumor says it will be 5,500 mAh after all."
"If true, that isn't just the biggest battery ever seen in an iPhone, but it's almost 10% bigger than the biggest so far - which is the one in the eSIM-only iPhone 17 Pro Max. Given how efficient iOS is compared to Android, the iPhone Fold's 5,500 mAh cell may very well let the device outlast its competition by some margin."
The iPhone Fold is expected to launch later this year with a unique foldable form factor unlike existing Android designs. A Chinese rumor indicates a 5,500 mAh battery, potentially the largest ever in an iPhone and roughly 10% larger than the current maximum in the eSIM-only iPhone 17 Pro Max. The combination of iOS efficiency and a 5,500 mAh cell may allow significantly longer battery life than competing foldables. Reported hardware includes a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, dual 48MP rear cameras, two 18MP front cameras, the A20 Pro chipset, and 12GB of RAM.
