"Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra was showcased in some CAD-based renders late last month, then we saw it in a very iPhone-esque colorway last week, and now it's time to take yet another look at it, this time inside a case. Another case, to be specific, as we've already seen it in some other cases a while back. The camera island redesign is still present, as you'd expect."
"The phone's three camera sensors on the left are now part of a raised oval island, and not just individual circles. This design has been one that Samsung has slowly moved towards over the last year or so, starting with its low-end phones. We initially thought it was intended to separate its flagships, with individual camera circle-islands, from its cheaper offerings, but apparently not - the company is just moving to this design across its entire smartphone portfolio, it seems."
CAD-based renders, colorway leaks, and recent case images reveal the Galaxy S26 Ultra's evolving design. The three rear cameras are now grouped on the left inside a raised oval island rather than individual circular islands. Samsung has been gradually adopting this oval camera island across multiple models, extending the approach from lower-end phones to flagships. The S26 Ultra should use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, though regional use of the Exynos 2600 remains possible. The entry-level S26 Pro appears set to use Exynos, and the S26 Edge may have been cancelled.
