Google Gemini for Home is now rolling out
"Today, Gemini for Home has started rolling out in the US, but there's a catch. Gemini for Home is currently in early access mode, and if you want to be among the first people in the US to be able to test it, you need to request access. To do this, go to Google Groups settings > Global Settings, and make sure "Add me to their groups" is checked."
"Then go to the Google Home app, tap your profile picture or initials, and select Home settings. That's where the "early access" option should be located, and tapping on that will request access on your behalf. If you are granted access, Gemini for Home will replace Google Assistant on your compatible smart home devices. It's important to note that this move is irreversible - you can't go back to Google Assistant later if you change your mind."
Google launched Gemini for Home and began a US rollout in early access. Users must request access to participate. To request access, enable "Add me to their groups" under Google Groups > Global Settings, then open the Google Home app, tap the profile icon, select Home settings, and tap the early access option to submit a request. If granted, Gemini for Home will replace Google Assistant on compatible smart home devices. The replacement is irreversible and cannot be undone. Access to Gemini Live and the ability to search camera history through Gemini for Home require a paid Google Home Premium subscription.
