Google is rolling out a new feature for Chrome on Android that allows users to reposition the address bar to the bottom of the screen, a feature already available for iOS users since 2023. This update aims to enhance user accessibility, especially for bigger phones, with Google emphasizing the importance of comfort based on user preferences. Users can easily switch the address bar position by pressing and holding on the bar or using the settings menu, allowing for a more personalized browsing experience.
Depending on the size of your hand and your device, one address bar position may feel more comfortable than the other. We designed this update to give you the flexibility to choose your preferred location - so you can browse with more ease.
To move your address bar to the bottom (or back to the top), press and hold on the bar and select the option to move it. You can also make the change from the settings menu.
