Amazon probably isn't working on a phone after all
"There’s no point. We know what customers need right now."
Amazon launched the Fire phone in 2014 and has stayed away from the phone space since. A March report claimed Amazon was developing an AI-powered phone. Panos Panay, responsible for consumer electronics, said Amazon is not necessarily going after a phone because there is no clear path that makes sense right now. He said the phone form factor is not going away and that phones will continue to transform over the next 10 years. He also said a black-and-white denial would be accurate, but could be misleading. He emphasized making big bets only when needed and focusing on what customers need now, while avoiding promises of another phone.
