Warriors Cup and RFC hold their first Muay Thai card in Madison Square Garden - QNS
"It means a lot because I've been to Madison Square Garden before as a fighter, so being able to come here as a promoter and give everybody the platform that I had myself and now to be able to offer that platform for other athletes, because I know how much it meant to me, it really means something special."
"It had great fights and really that's what it's all about at the end of the day. It's really about the fighters: everybody pretty much went home safe and nobody had to go to the hospital."
Warriors Cup successfully hosted its first event at Madison Square Garden's Infosys Theater, attracting over 3,000 spectators for a 21-fight card. The event featured professional fighters ranging from recently turned pros to a main event title fight for the WBC Muay Thai Nai Khanom Tom Prestige Championship. The venue was filled with passionate supporters from various gyms who celebrated every significant moment. Promoter Guccione, a retired Muay Thai fighter, expressed pride in providing athletes the same platform he once experienced. The organization has grown significantly from hosting events at gymnasiums in Yonkers six years ago. While Melrose Ballroom remains Warriors Cup's home venue, the successful MSG event has prompted plans for future events at the legendary location.
