"Right now we're at Claudevan's ranch. I have been coming here since I was a kid. This is where we go fishing, catch crabs, and reconnect with nature a bit. At first, I'd just do it for fun with my friends and uncles when I lived here. Later on, I started doing it to make some money to help with competitions and my family."
"I'd even give some to my grandma. Now I do it more as a hobby, I really enjoy it... This is my natural habitat."
Charles Oliveira recently returned to Guaruja, Brazil, his hometown, to engage in crab hunting at Claudevan's ranch. As a child, he caught crabs for fun with friends and family members. As his MMA career developed, Oliveira began catching crabs to earn money to support both his family and his fighting pursuits, occasionally sharing his catch with his grandmother. Now financially successful as a former UFC lightweight champion, Oliveira views crab hunting as a recreational hobby and describes it as his natural habitat. He is scheduled to face Max Holloway for the BMF title at UFC 326 on March 7 in Las Vegas.
