""In French we say 'when the road is longer, the victory is [greater],'""
""So it's okay. I have to prove to myself, to the UFC who I am. So it's what I'm going to do.""
""Yeah, I think it's the biggest fight in his career because he's in UFC now. UFC debut is not easy, and I'm not a gift,""
""I looked at all his fights, I have a lot of keys to win this fight.""
William Gomis will fight Robert Ruchala at UFC Paris, marking Gomis's fourth appearance on a Paris card. Robert Ruchala is a former KSW champion making his UFC debut. Gomis does not feel disrespected by drawing a newcomer and invokes a French proverb about longer roads bringing greater victory. Gomis intends to prove himself both to himself and to the UFC. Both fighters previously lost to Salahdine Parnasse earlier in their careers. Gomis reports studying all of Ruchala's fights and believes he holds a speed advantage heading into the matchup.
