""This is the art of martial arts," Shevchenko said. "When there is an opponent who is super hard in their weight class against all other opponents, but when they are here, in front of me, they can't do anything.""
""I was prepared for the hardest challenge,""
Valentina Shevchenko defended the UFC 125-pound flyweight championship with a dominant unanimous decision over Zhang Weili in the co-main event of UFC 322 at Madison Square Garden. Shevchenko won every round on all three judges' scorecards and repeatedly took Zhang down, controlling her on the floor while neutralizing Zhang's offense. Shevchenko also used effective kicks to the legs and body and expertly dictated distance and timing of takedowns. Zhang vacated the 115-pound title to move up and challenge for the flyweight belt. Shevchenko tied Amanda Nunes with 11 UFC title-fight wins.
