The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is set to launch its 2025 campaign with a new grand prix tournament format at PFL 1 in Orlando, Florida. This year, the traditional season system and points scoring have been discarded for a straightforward win-or-lose setup. The tournament will see fighters competing for a $500,000 prize instead of the previously promised million-dollar payout. The card features well-known fighters from both Bellator and PFL, including the main event headlined by Jason Jackson and Andrey Koreshkov, marking a significant shift in the league's competition structure.
Gone is the season format and convoluted points system, gone as well is the million dollars in prize money. Instead, it's 500K U.S. to the winner.
Now called the World Tournament, the PFL has brought in a grand prix format the MMA fans should be very familiar with.
PFL 1 is headlined by a couple of Bellator standouts in Jason Jackson and Andrey Koreshkov, and overall it's a mix of familiar names.
Weigh-ins for PFL 1 take place Wednesday, April 2 in Orlando, FL; results can be found below.
