Ninth Circuit Court Shoots Down Mark Hunt Lawsuit vs. UFC, Dana White
Briefly

Mark Hunt's attempt to sue UFC, Dana White, and Brock Lesnar was dismissed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The court upheld a prior ruling stating that Hunt did not prove he suffered any verifiable harm due to his fight against Lesnar, which took place at UFC 200. Despite Hunt's claims of fraud and unethical practices, the courts found his evidence lacking. The dismissal marks the end of a long legal battle that began with Hunt's 2017 lawsuit against the UFC and its executives.
"Unfortunately, Hunt does not point to any evidence in the record of any physical, emotional, economic, or reputational damage or harm attributable to Defendants-Appellees' conduct," the three-judge panel wrote in its ruling.
Dorsey concluded that Hunt did not meet the evidentiary burden on his remaining claims of fraud, battery, aiding-and-abetting battery and civil conspiracy.
Hunt initially filed a civil lawsuit against the UFC, White and Lesnar in Nevada District Court in 2017, alleging that the defendants 'affirmatively circumvented and obstructed fair competition for their own benefit.'
