Ryan Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions were sued by Fanmio for breach of contract over a December 2024 pay-per-view event in which Garcia withdrew due to injury. Fanmio alleges it was misled into organizing the event. Garcia's attorney dismissed the lawsuit as meritless. Currently under suspension until April, Garcia is set for a May 2 fight against Rolly Romero, marking his return after a year out, following a controversial positive drug test.
Fanmio was deceived into organizing an event in which Ryan never intended to participate. In addition, Golden Boy Promotions actively worked to sabotage the event.
Garcia's attorney stated, 'this suit has no merit whatsoever. We will respond vigorously when the time is appropriate.'
Garcia, who is under suspension, has an upcoming fight with Rolly Romero, marking his first bout after a year-long suspension.
The lawsuit claims eight instances of alleged fraudulent inducement, tortious interference and breach of contract by Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions.
