Conor McGregor mocks Nate Diaz for loss to Mike Perry
Nate Diaz faced Mike Perry at Most Valuable Promotions “Rousey vs. Carano” at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Diaz received a one-sided beatdown and was so bloodied by the end of the second round that his corner threw in the towel. Diaz had been in talks with the UFC for a return to MMA in a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor. After Diaz’s performance, McGregor said he understands why Diaz did not accept the trilogy matchup. McGregor still has not dismissed the possibility of a rubber fight. Their rivalry includes a submission loss for McGregor in 2016 and a majority decision win for McGregor in 2016’s rematch. McGregor is scheduled to return against Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11 in Las Vegas.
"Diaz (21-14) took on Mike Perry at Most Valuable Promotions "Rousey vs. Carano" on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. Diaz had barely anything to offer while suffering a one-sided beatdown against Perry. Diaz was so bloodied up by the end of the second round that his corner decided to throw in the towel."
"Diaz was originally in talks with the UFC for a return to MMA in a trilogy fight against McGregor. After Diaz's performance against Perry, McGregor says he knows why his former foe didn't accept the trilogy matchup. However, "Notorious" hasn't completely given up on a potential rubber fight against Diaz."
""I see why [ Nate Diaz] didn't take the fight lol," McGregor wrote on X. "Anyway here's to when I get my hands on you, you lanky streak of piss.""
"McGregor (22-6) suffered a submission loss against Diaz in their first matchup at UFC 196 in 2016. The Dubliner exacted revenge with a majority decision win in their rematch at UFC 202 later that year. While a rubber fight between the two has been teased several times over the years, it is yet to come to fruition. Meanwhile, McGregor is set to return to action for the first time since 2021 against Max Holloway (27-9) at UFC 329 on July 11 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas."
